Arusha Town to Tarangire NP
Right after breakfast, your driver-guide from Team Wanderlust will be ready to take you on an exciting day of game-viewing within the vast expanse of Tarangire National Park.Situated southeast of Lake Manyara National Park, Tarangire is an integral part of a sprawling ecosystem. Known for its authentic and sophisticated game-viewing, it stands out as a prime dry-season sanctuary, especially from July to October.
The park is home to one of Tanzania’s highest wildlife concentrations and is often referred to as the “elephant playground” due to the large number of these majestic creatures. By late October, as the short-wet season begins, you may witness their migration.
Throughout the year, Tarangire also offers sightings of hartebeests, wildebeests, zebras, elands, lesser kudus, gazelles, waterbucks, giraffes, impalas, and occasionally leopards or rhinos, making it a wildlife haven in every season. This region truly embodies the raw allure of an African safari. After lunch, you’ll continue your game-viewing drive. As the day winds down, you’ll head to your lodge within the park for dinner and a restful night.

Tarangire NP to Lake Manyara NP
This morning, you leave for Lake Manyara after a refreshing early morning breakfast.Lake Manyara is specifically famous for the tree-climbing lions, its rich avian population, and the alkaline Lake Manyara, from which the park draws its name. Also, the park is home to a diverse array of wildlife, and provides excellent opportunities to observe hippos at close range.
During the rainy seasons of the year, nearly two-thirds of the park’s total area is submerged by the lake. However, despite its compact size, Lake Manyara’s diverse ecosystem support a wide range of habitats, offering incredible sightings of the local wildlife thriving in its natural setting. Enjoy a picnic lunch in one of the designated spots in the afternoon and resume your game-viewing drive before leaving for your lodge in Mto wa Mbu.

Lake Manyara to Central Serengeti
The main focus in these two days will be about enjoying two game-viewing drives, and perhaps a hot-air balloon flight or the al fresco bush lunch on the second day.
Central Serengeti is famous for its predator-dominance, and this may bring some great sights of predator-prey during drives. You’ll probably catch sights of nearly eight thousand spotted hyenas, united in formidable clans, alongside three thousand lions adorned with their distinctive black manes.
In addition to these apex predators, cheetahs, leopards, and bat-eared foxes also add to the diversity of the Serengeti’s ecosystem. Scavengers, including golden and side-striped jackals, as well as different vulture species, play their vital roles in this intricate web of life.Embrace the tranquility of the wilderness, marveling at the interconnectedness of all living things, and cherishing the privilege of witnessing nature’s wonders firsthand.

Central Serengeti to South Serengeti
Following a hearty breakfast, you head out for an exhilarating day of game viewing en route to the southern Serengeti near Ndutu. These short-grass expanses form part of the southern Serengeti’s ecological system, offering a quintessential Serengeti experience with vast open plains and sizable wildebeest herds, particularly prevalent from December to April.
Prepare to encounter a diverse array of African wildlife, from big cats to other mammalian species and large birds that thrive in the southern Serengeti. Ndutu is especially renowned for its cheetah sightings and allows off-road exploration, making it a favorite among photographers.Lake Ndutu serves as a focal point during the wildebeest dispersal, providing exceptional game-viewing opportunities during and after the calving season.
On the 7th day, enjoy a full day of game drives to Moru Koppies, further exploring the region’s rich wildlife. Return to your lodge in the early evening to unwind and savor a delightful evening.

Southern Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater
Start the day with a final breakfast in the magnificent Serengeti before heading toward the Ngorongoro Crater. Enjoy one last game drive en route, taking in the diverse wildlife along the way.
Upon arrival at Ngorongoro, descend nearly 2,000 feet into the crater and prepare yourself to be consistently surprised.Known for hosting Africa’s largest permanent concentration of wildlife, the Ngorongoro Crater is just a small part of the expansive Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
It’s home to the African Big Five: elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion, and leopard. With a permanent water source, the crater eliminates the need for large-scale wildlife migration, offering a fascinating contrast to the Serengeti and making it a prime destination for game viewing. In the Lerai Forest, nature unveils its magic with sightings of elephants, waterbucks, and, if fortune favors you, leopards in the quieter areas. After a remarkable day in the crater, retreat to your lodge for a relaxing evening.
